Tiffany sits down with Sharon Benton, co-owner of Santa’s Enchanted Workshop, for a personal conversation about creating meaningful memories, building a business around unforgettable experiences, and finding purpose through some of life’s hardest moments.
Sharon shares how she and her husband Scott turned decades of photography experience into an immersive Christmas experience where children step into a world of magic. From personalized invitations and tiny elf doors to a Santa who already knows each child’s name, every detail is designed to make families feel something special. For Sharon, the photograph is only part of what matters. The real goal is creating an experience children and parents will carry with them long after they leave.
She also explains why making that magic accessible to every child is so important. Whether a child is shy, neurodivergent, living with a disability, or simply having a difficult day, Sharon believes they deserve the time and space to enjoy the experience without pressure.
The conversation takes a deeply personal turn as Sharon shares the story of her son Kyle, who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury in a longboarding accident just days after turning 18. Sharon recalls receiving the devastating call while across the country, rushing to his bedside, and navigating an uncertain recovery. Kyle survived and is now married, but the experience forever changed how Sharon thinks about family, safety, and the memories people often take for granted.
Sharon also talks about why she has become so passionate about helmet safety and the importance of continuing difficult conversations with children, even when they resist. Through faith, caregiving, entrepreneurship, and personal hardship, she has learned that difficult experiences can still lead to something meaningful.
As Sharon looks toward expanding Santa’s Enchanted Workshop and teaching other photographers how to create their own immersive experiences, her story is a reminder that the most valuable things we build are often the memories, connections, and lessons we leave behind.
