Tiffany sits down with Rachel Coons, money coach, mom of four, fitness instructor, and host of The Money Mom Podcast, for a conversation about marriage, money, motherhood, and what it really means to feel safe in your own life.
Rachel shares the story of a “pinch me” family trip to Florida that came after one of the hardest seasons in her marriage. She and her husband had spent years grinding through school, babies, business ownership, and building the life they thought they wanted, only to realize they were stuck in painful patterns they could not seem to break.
She talks about the rock bottom moment that changed their trajectory and the nervous system work that helped them rebuild. Rather than giving broad advice about “doing the work,” Rachel explains how learning to recognize dysregulation, communicate capacity, and create safety changed the way she and her husband showed up for each other.
The conversation also moves into money. Rachel opens up about growing up in a large family with limited resources, moving into a wealthy community as a teenager, and the stories she formed around spending, scarcity, guilt, and wealth. Later, even after she and her husband had more money, she realized peace did not come from the number in the bank account. It came from healing the beliefs attached to it.
Tiffany and Rachel also talk about stay-at-home moms, separate bank accounts, teaching kids financial responsibility, overspending, shame, and why budgeting alone does not always solve the deeper problem.
